Day 2
Arusha National park
Explore the beauty of Arusha National Park
After a delicious breakfast, the safari adventure begins immediately! You are visiting us to go on safari, not to relax by a pool for a few days first, so we fly right in. Experience the splendor of Arusha National Park with a game-walk led by an armed ranger. Meet unique animals, admire waterfalls and enjoy the enchanting natural splendor of Tanzania.

- After breakfast we will meet our Safari guide and 4x4 (Toyota Landcruiser) and you will get a short briefing of the trip.
- Your adventure begins immediately with a game-walk (a walking safari) in Arusha NP. The towering Mount Meru is Tanzania's second highest peak and provides the majestic backdrop for this national park. The walk is done by mutual agreement in the morning or shortly after noon, when the sunshine will already be full...
- Together with an armed ranger, one of the things we do is walk along a fresh stream with waterfall and remarkable (rather harmless) animals, including the unique white and black colobus monkey, a unique albino baboon that resides here and larger animals such as giraffes, elephants, zebras, hippos, buffalo, dik-dik and several antelope. Not to mention the many flamingos at the lakes of Momella.

- After breakfast, we will leave for Tarangire NP, which is about a 3-hour drive (160 km).
- Tarangire NP was recently voted the 3rd most beautiful park in Africa and is also our favorite.
- Particularly large numbers of elephant herds (sometimes up to 100) congregate here, as do many zebras.
- We are staying just at the edge of the park where we will spend the night. A nice end to the day before you can rest is the dinner offered to you.
- You can also choose to opt for Lake Manyara instead of Tarangire.
- Ecoscience Luxury Lodge
Day 4

- It is about 5 hours of driving on good but also very bad dirt roads until we reach the central Seronera section.
- After dinner, relax with the sounds of the savannah. However, it is usually very quiet here because this camp is located in ' the middle of nowhere'.................. only the hyenas sometimes dare to wake you up.

Day 6
Serengeti National Park
Experience the famous Serengeti park and enjoy luxury at Embalakai camps.
This will be a full day in the beautiful Serengeti central. Right after breakfast we explore this vast area in one of Africa’s most awe-inspiring safari areas.
Spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park and enjoy a delicious picnic meal in the bush of Africa.

- Because there are not many "real" roads here, wildlife can live here completely undisturbed and therefore excellent for year-round safaris. Once again we stay in the same tented camp.
- We are staying just north of Seronera (central Serengeti) where we will spend another night. A nice end to the day before you can rest is the dinner offered to you.
- Embalakai Authentic Camps
Day 7
Serengeti National Park
Enjoy another exclusive game drive and relax in your luxury tent.
Today we head toward the east of the Serengeti. Here you can sometimes find as many as 25 different wild cats (lion, cheetah, leopard, serval, caracal) per day.
Other members of the Big Five (buffalo and elephant) have also been doing well in this area for the past 70 years.

- For years, the Tanzanian government was planning a major highway through the Serengeti National Park to connect rural communities. However, this road would have cut through the Great Migration and destroyed the pristine ecosystem.
- Today, the Serengeti has a stable lion population of about 3,000 individuals. Lion numbers across Africa are declining, so the Serengeti population is more important than ever to protect the species.
- Embalakai Authentic Camps
Day 8
NgorongoroCrater
Enjoy a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater and overnight in Karatu.
After spending a few days in Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater is still on our program. These we will also descend, of course … in search of rhinos.
After you have enjoyed a delicious breakfast, we gather picnic lunches for you one last time as you board for ride toward a visit to one of the seven wonders of Africa

- After the safari, take a refreshing dip in the pool.
- Highview Coffee Lodge
Day 9
DirectionZanzibar
Depart for the sun, sea and beach of the Indian Ocean in Zanzibar.
Unfortunately, this will be the last day on Tanzanian soil. But there is more: Zanzibar.
After a tasty breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar.
Read more about Day 9
- The drive to Arusha airport is only 3h on well-paved roads (which we used before).
- Shortly after noon, your plane to the spice island will be ready and after barely an hour you will be there.
- Upon arrival at Zanzibar airport, you will meet your resort representative and then be transferred to your reserved resort/hotel.
- You can also choose to fly on to the much quieter Mafia Island instead of busy Zanzibar.
- Blue Oyster Hotel
Day 10-14
Zanzibar
Enjoy 4 full days on the spice island at Blue Oyster Hotel.
Like most countries in East Africa near the equator, Zanzibar has the same days and nights of 12 hours each, with daytime temperatures always between 27 and 30 degrees.
Zanzibar is the main island of the Tanzanian archipelago and consists of the islands of Unguja and Pemba and many smaller islands. There is also a Stone Town, a historic trading center with Swahili and Islamic influences.

- There are no lions, elephants or giraffes on this island, but the beauty of Zanzibar's wildlife is mostly found in the water.
- So you can use 4 full days here to do nothing or just more.
- On day 14 we will have you taken back to the airport and sadly return towards your next (home?) destination ...

In East Africa, the dry season usually runs from June through mid-March.
For entry into Tanzania, you can also obtain a visa on arrival. This is the cheapest option, but be sure to carry $50 cash for smooth processing. Information on obtaining your visa (and other helpful tips) will be sent to you well in advance.
On Zanzibar, the spice island, specialties are influenced by Arab Swahili cuisine, with slightly spicy rice dishes and coconut preparations. Fresh fish from the Indian Ocean is brought in daily.
By evening and early morning, however, it can be a bit chillier, so a sweater or light jacket may come in handy. Temperature differences are determined by region rather than season. Higher elevations around Mount Kenya or Mount Meru, for example, can be cooler, while drier bushlands are warmer and coastal areas such as Mombasa or Zanzibar are quite tropical.
This means that there are no distinct winters or summers, as in South Africa, for example. Between April and May, however, there is the rainy season. However, our experience here tells us that heavy rains are rare … because of global warming? Usually every 3 days there can be a shower, usually at night. Besides the lower prices, which are about 10% cheaper, all the landscapes then turn beautifully green.
In short, in general, expect early mornings and evenings on safari to be cooler than you might expect in Africa. Especially if you travel between April and June, it is rare to bring a thick fleece or waterproof jacket, as it can feel quite chilly early in the morning or at night.
